Nine State FFA Degree Recipients from Tecumseh, NRC

Last month, the Countywide & Sun introduced five out of the 17 State FFA Degree recipients from Pottawatomie County for 2025. They were Sydne Konkler, Kylie Nunneley, Paityn Seiger, Lilybeth Springer from Bethel, and Gracie Little from McLoud.
On behalf of the Shawnee Board of City Commissioners, Mayor Eric Stephens presented a Certificate of Recognition to the Pleasant Grove Girls Basketball team who won their second consecutive ORES Division III Championship. The Lady Warriors then presented Stephens with a signed jersey. Shawnee High School Girls Swim Team was also recognized for securing their fourth consecutive OSSAA 5A State Championship title. Search for Shawnee City Manager Stopped

The Shawnee City Commission approved a $733,335 purchase of a rescue pumper truck at their Apr. 21 meeting, a move Fire Chief James Kriwanek called a cost-saving measure.

Sartin Participates in Page Program

Shawnee, OK – April 20, 2025 — Shawnee High School student Kiley Sartin recently participated in the prestigious Page Program at the Oklahoma State Capitol, gaining firsthand experience with state government and the legislative process.

SPS Board Hires New Superintendent

For the Shawnee Public Schools (SPS) Board of Education, the hunt began on Jan. 24 when they approved the “superintendent search” services through the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA).It ended at the April 22 special session meeting after a short executive session.
