County Approves Vehicle Purchases

The Pottawatomie County Commission approved several expenditures and initiatives during its April 15, 2025, meeting. This included a $62,260 purchase of a 2025 Chevy Tahoe for Dist. 3 to replace an outdated vehicle, as stated by Commissioner Abby Thompson.The commiss i o n greenlit $54,795.

Tecumseh Museum to host 30th anniversary open house

Tecumseh Historical Society will host an open house at the Tecumseh Museum on Sat., April 19, from 10 am to 2 pm to celebrate its organization, opening and incorporation 30 years ago.

Washington, D.C. - On Monday, Apr. 7, Representative Bice and Senator Lankford hosted a Commemorative Survivor Tree Dedication Ceremony on the United States Capitol Grounds.

There was a new face on the Shawnee Public Schools Board of Education and the absence of a long-time public servant during the regular meeting on April 7.Casey White was elected in the April 1 election to fill the Ward 7 seat, and was sworn in by Board President Clif Harden.

Blue Phoenix Rises to take on High School Robotics Competition, Sprockets on Winning Alliance

Forty-eight teams competed in the Oklahoma Regional FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition, which was held at Fire-Lake Arena, April 2-5.Most of those teams (33) were from Oklahoma. Others traveled from Colorado, Missouri and Arkansas.
