Dressed in a pharoah hat, Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art Docent Dick Trim speaks about the mummification process, as Princess Tutu lays in front of him, during Mummy Day at the museum on Oct. 26. Tutu was mummified in 332 B.C. in the Faiyum district of Egypt, and was gifted to the Glen Island Museum in 1898, according to https://www.mgmoa-gallery.com/tutu-mummy-cnxk. When that museum went bankrupt, Father Gregory Gerrer purchased Tutu at auction. The MGMOA also has an unidentified mummy from the Roman era.

Shawnee Welcomes Delegation from Sister City Nikaho, Japan

Shawnee, OK, Oct. 29, 2024 - A delegation from Nikaho, Japan, was welcomed at Will Roger ’s Airport by Shawnee Sister City Council members, former Shawnee delegates, and host families on Wednesday, Oct. 23rd. The delegation included ten students and three adults from Nikaho.
