Shawnee Approves Application For $1 Million Grant

The Pottawatomie Board of County Commissioners held a long meeting Monday, Oct. 2, finally adjourning at 5:29 pm. Most of the meeting was spent in executive session (from 2 pm until they adjourned) discussing the positions and duties of Terra Allred, Debbie Allison, Kurt Schultz, and Thad Campbell.

Cameras Being Installed At Slick Humphrey Park

The Tecumseh City Council authorized the purchase of a $24,241 security camera system for the city’s Slick Humphrey Park, during their regular monthly meeting on Monday, October 2nd. This comes as a result of increased vandalism issues in recent months.
Sometime around midnight or 1 am, a fire downtown fully engulfed the top floor of the building that housed Bugatti Buds and Candy Licker.. Shawnee Fire Department is dousing the roof of The Ritz in an attempt to keep the fire from spreading. Colburn Named OSSAA Swim Coach Of The Year

Shawnee Superintendent Dr. Aaron Espolt announced that Shawnee Head Swim Coach Valarie Colburn has been named the 2022-23 OSSAA Swim Coach of the Year. During the Oct. 2 Shawnee Board of Education meeting, Espolt congratulated Colburn saying, “So, as we all would say, well earned, well deserved.
