It was reported in the Countywide & Sun l that the two bond propositions for McLoud Public Schools passed. That is not correct. Bonds require a 60 percent vote (super majority) to pass and neither propositions received the required votes to reach the 60 percent threshold.

OBU Presents Top Employee Honors During Convocation

Oklahoma Baptist University presented its highest employee awards during Convocation chapel Aug. 30 on the OBU campus in Shawnee.
Twenty-seven contestants in the Tot, Little, Junior and Miss Frontier Days Pageant perform the musical number dressed in period costumes for the “Remember When” theme. The pageant was held on Sept. 24 at the W.P. Wood Alumni Center at Tecumseh High School, but the Junior and Miss contestants will be crowned before the Frontier Days Parade on Sept. 30. Forty Girls Compete In Frontier Days Pageant

Forty Frontier Days Pageant contestants took to the stage at the W.P. Wood THS Alumni Center on Sunday, Sept. 24. With the Frontier Days theme being “Remember When,” about 27 girls dressed in clothes from past decades started the pageant off with a musical number.

Shawnee FFA Has High Hopes, Despite Loss Of Barn To April Tornado

Like many buildings on the campus, the agriculture barn and greenhouse at Shawnee High School was a total loss after the tornado of April 19 came through.
