Wanette Candidate Filing Begins Monday

Candidates interested in filing for a four year unexpired term for Trustee or for the position of town clerk for the City of Wanette will need to file a Declaration of Candidacy. The Pottawatomie County Election Board will accept filings beginning at 8 am Monday, Sept.

Tecumseh Approves Purchase of New Playground Equipment

During the meeting held Monday, Tecumseh Public Schools Board of Education approved purchasing new playground equipment for Cross Timbers Elementary that includes accessible features to accommodate special needs students.

Shawnee Board Of Education Approves Para Raises

County Reviews ARPA Funding With New Maud Mayor

The new Mayor of Maud, Jimmy Porterfield, appeared before the Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners Tuesday, Sept. 5, to discuss the ARPA funds approved in January for a new water tower for the town. Mayor Porterfield said the cost of a new tower is estimated to be $1.

Frontier Days To Add Art Show, Basketball Tournament

Tecumseh’s Frontier Days festival will be a walk down memory lane this year, with its theme “Remember When.” And the first thing to remember is the date. The Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce event will happen on Sat., Sept. 30, in hopes there will be fewer scheduling conflicts.

Voter Registration Event Scheduled

A voter registration event sponsored by the Pottawatomie County Election Board is scheduled for September 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2023. The event will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the 7th, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the 8th, and 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
