Tecumseh Cheerleaders Addison Taron and David Lawrence, both sophomores, judge a 1949 GMC truck belonging to Larry Higgs of South Rock Creek at the Third Annual Tecumseh High School Cheer Booster Club Car Show on Aug. 26. The sign welcomes visitors to Shawnee and to Dunbar Heights as they exit 177 on the south side of town. People of all ages enjoyed touring the Chinook Cargo Helicopter (CH47) F Model during Cops N’ Kids at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center on Aug. 26. Flown by U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 5 Mike McGill with the help of Flight Engineer First Sgt. Robert Calvert, the helicopter traveled from Lexington, OK, and tried to get to the event early so it wouldn’t cause havoc. The CH47 was the Cops N’ Kids Mystery Display this year.
