Throughout 2024 and onward, Mr. Right and I lost weight and got healthier. Quite a bit of weight, actually. I’ve cut out refined sugar, obliterated carbohydrates, and lowered my fat intake. He eats what I cook and likes it. (His words, not mine.

The Golden Age Center is decorated for spring as we march into the season with some beautiful weather and much needed rain chances.

Night Sky Report

Snow and sub-freezing temperatures do NOT make for good viewing conditions! While some of the evenings provided us with clear, steady skies and very low humidity (creating high contrast conditions), the low temperatures were and are problematic for a lot of us.

Senate Report

This legislative session has gotten off to a busy start. Senate committees are in full swing and meeting weekly to hear dozens of policy bills. Much of my time has been consumed by my work leading the Senate Energy Committee.

Dear Editor, I’m a life-long Oklahoman and proud member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. My tribe comes from the division of Shawnee led by the great Chief Tecumseh, a warrior well-known for creating a Native confederacy that ardently resisted settler-colonialism in the 1800s.

From angry to happy forgiveness

I seldom write when I am angry. This column is an exception.The genesis of this column is estimated to be sometime between 1953-55. Only two persons were present—Tony, my favorite fishing cousin, and yours truly. The location was an old brick Indiana farmhouse built in 1869.
