In 1957, Jerry Lee Lewis blew up the country and pop charts with Great Balls of Fire. There are so many songs about fire I couldn’t begin to list them all.

Sanity’s Last Stand

Fires drew nearer as we packed our campervan and minivan taking a bare minimum of clothing, and everything we keep packed for camping—water, our routine meds, dog food, and sleeping bags. We rallied the neighbors to do the same and then waited. And waited.
