United Way Raises $36K At Masquerade Fundraiser

The United Way of Pottawatomie County (UWPC) is honored to announce that a total of $36,000 was raised at the United Way Masquerade Fundraiser. The United Way Masquerade took place at The Grand Casino Hotel & Resort on October 11.

In Tecumseh, there is a group of people who spend part of their Thanksgiving Day volunteering. Some of them have made it a tradition for 17 years, and this year, with the return to a dine-in option, they made the holiday brighter for 997 people.

Shawnee Will Apply For $1 Million Grant For Depot Repairs

The Shawnee City Commission voted yes on Monday Nov. 28 to allow city staff to apply for a $1 million grant for additional funding for repairs on the Santa Fe Depot. The board held a special meeting Monday to discuss a resolution.

Baukal Named Founding Director Of OBU Engineering Program

Dr. Charles E. Baukal Jr. has been named the founding director of Oklahoma Baptist University’s new engineering program. He assumed the role of director and professor of engineering on Nov. 7. Baukal has over 40 years of industrial work experience.
