GCTC American Spirit Team Collects Items for Veterans

Students from Gordon Cooper Technology Center’s SkillsUSA American Spirit Team held a supply drive to benefit the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center. The group asked Gordon Cooper Technology Center programs to donate specific items of need in conjunction with GCTC’s Veterans Day assembly on Nov. 13.

The Town Hall meeting, held by State Senator Shane Jett on Tuesday evening, brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds to discuss homelessness and work towards a united solution.

It has been 18 years since Randy and Suzanne Gilbert started the Tecumseh Family Thanksgiving Dinner. And it is still a free option for those in need, those needing company and those who are homebound.

The Tecumseh Police Officers Association Annual Bows of Love Tree will be ready in the TPD lobby on Nov. 27. So far this year, there are 107 children in 39 families who need presents for Christmas, according to a post on the Tecumseh Police Department Facebook page.

Santa Fe Depot Update, Ward 3 Commissioner Sworn In

The Santa Fe Depot project is another step closer to being realized. During the monthly meeting of the Shawnee City Commission, Assistant City Manager Danny Vise Jr. said 19 people representing 16 businesses attended the pre-bid meeting.
