Shawnee Receives $84,000 From Local Non-Profits

Shawnee Public Schools had a lot to be thankful for last month, with some massive donations to fund tornado recovery and improvement projects. And this month, they had a couple more Christmas presents that came early.

Ready To Ride The Loop d’Loop, Murals On Wish List

Craig McIntyre, owner of the Tecumseh Chamber 2023 Small Business of the Year spOkeLAHOMA, addressed the board at Monday night’s monthly meeting. He reminded the city that, on December 16th, they will be doing their third annual ride, the Loop d’ Loop, which starts at 7 pm and lasts until 7 am.

Community Market of Pottawatomie County (CMPC) is awarded a $160,896 grant by the Avedis Foundation.

Newly Renovated Courtyard At MGMoA, Thanks to Boy Scout Troop

The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art recently revealed its newly renovated courtyard. The renovation was completed by Bryce Fair, BSA Troop 75, and volunteers out of Moore, OK. Bryce approached the museum about the courtyard renovation as his Eagle Scout project earlier in the year.

One of the best FFA chapters in the country is right here in our backyard. During the 96th Future Farmers of America National Convention last month, the Tecumseh High School FFA Chapter was designated as a National 3-Star Chapter.

Third Generation Bethel FFA Graduate Receives American FFA Degree

This year, Paisley Sturgill of Bethel is the sole recipient of the American FFA Degree from Pottawatomie County. The American FFA Degree is the “highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization,” according to the Future Farmers of America website, www.ffa.org.
