Potawatomi Fire Opens Season With Two Wins

SHREVEPORT, LA, – On the ‘official’ opening night for the 2023 TBL season, the Potawatomi Fire delivered a resounding statement to the defending TBL champions and the rest of the league, with a 128-89 road domination of the Shreveport Mavericks.

Bethel Lady Wildcats Win Regionals

Bethel traveled to Prague to begin Regional play Thursday, Feb. 23, and finished their season Friday in Kellyville. Friday, the Wildcats took on host Prague. It was a tie game by the end of the first quarter, 16-16.

Lady Savages Begin Area Play Tonight In Henryetta

The Lady Savage round ballers advanced to the Area Tournament and are still in the hunt for a spot in the State Tournament next week and will try to take care of business starting today (Thursday) in Henryetta.

Lady Pirates Cruise Through Regionals

After cruising through Regionals, both Dale teams will travel to Cleveland Friday night to begin Area play. The Dale Lady Pirates had a slow start against the Wewoka Lady Tigers Thursday, Feb. 23. Dale finished the first quarter with a two-point lead (14-2).

THS Sends Six To State Tournament, Two Place

Tecumseh Wrestling ended the season on a high note by sending six wrestlers, four men and two ladies, to the State Tournament and returned with two that placed, one Savage and one Lady Savage, a great accomplishment for an up-and-coming program.

Savages Come Up Short In Regionals, Season Ends

Tecumseh Savage basketball ended the season in the Regional Tournament, but not before the T-Town boys showed a lot of heart to extend the season for another game. The Savages came into the Regional Tournament in the consolation bracket after losing to Crossings Christian in District play.

Dale Breezes Through Regionals

The undefeated Dale Pirates outscored their opponents in two games of Regional play, 174-68. In the opening game, Thursday, Feb. 23, against Savanna, the Pirates led 21-15 in the first quarter. With continued pressure, the Pirates increased their lead to 4019 by halftime.

Shawnee Girls Swim Team Takes State

For the second year in a row, the Shawnee High School Girls Swim Team is Class 5A’s State Champions. They scored 311 points overall during the State Championship Meet held at the Edmond Aquatic Center on Feb. 17 and 18. The girls team improved from 255 points last year.

Bethel Lady Wildcats had plenty to celebrate Friday, Feb. 17, as they cruised to a 62-24 District Championship against the Okmulgee Lady Bulldogs.Lady Wildcat sophomore Josie Megehee led the charge with 23 points and joined the 1,000-point club in the process.

Savages Come Up Short In Title Game

Tecumseh’s round ballers fought hard last Friday night in the District title game as they hosted a Crossings Christian team with a record of 18-2 but came up short in the end and dropped to the Consolation Regional Bracket beginning today (Thursday).
