Over 100 Entries At The 6th Annual Bethel Band Boosters Car Show

The Bethel Band Boosters held their Sixth Annual Car Show fundraiser at Bethel High School on April 9. Organizer Carla Whitehurst said this is one of their largest fundraisers each year, and over 100 cars entered, according to their Facebook post. Here are the results from the show.

BancFirst donates to 21 Schools

BancFirst, on Harrison in Shawnee, held a reception on March 31 for their bi-annual School Donation Ceremony. BancFirst Regional Sales and Marketing Coordinator Shannon Chandler said they had 47 applications from schools in Pottawatomie County, and 21 were chosen to receive donations of $250-$500.

Stucker Gym Improvements Announced April 4th

The Stucker Wrestling Complex, at Shawnee High School, is on its way to getting a new and improved floor for its basketball court, after the Shawnee Board of Education approved the upgrade during its April 4 meeting. The current floor is made of concrete covered in an epoxy overlay, said Dr.

SSC Students Honored at Statewide Awards Ceremony

Two Seminole State College students and one area high school senior were recognized at the All-Oklahoma Academic Team and Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges Presidents’ Tuition Waiver Awards Ceremony on March 29 at the Oklahoma State Capitol.
